Looking back at the Barcelona Yacht Charter Show 2019

60 top charter yachts attracted the industry onboard at the MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona. Brokers from around the world attended the show, taking the opportunity to see the onboard experience brought to life, with a chef competition, a service experience competition and the legendary evening yacht hop, with yachts decorated and themed.

YPI charter yacht AXIOMA won 1st place in the Service Experience Competition and 2nd place in the Chefs Competition. AXIOMA’s exceptional interior team created a fantastic design to complement chef Sascha Lenz’s vegetarian menu, based around the theme of AXIOMA PLANET. AXIOMA also hosted a successful invitation-only Game of Thrones evening, with decorations and costumes.

Other charter yachts on display include the 90m NERO, combining classic style with modern standards; the 2018-launched 72m SOLO; and the 59m OceanCo HELIOS.

Following the show’s success, it has been announced that Marina Port Vell will continue to host both MYBA. OneOcean Port Vell has been the destination for the Charter Show over the past three years, and it will now extend its stay for at least another two years.

Gaye Joyeau-Bourgeois, MYBA president, commented: “The MYBA Charter Show is the first major event of the superyacht season for the charter sector and, it is owing to the world-class facilities of OneOcean Port Vell, a marina that can cater to a show of both this calibre and size, that we have chosen to celebrate the next two editions at this port.”
