The 147m Topaz became the largest superyacht to be delivered this year when she left Lürssen’s Aumund yard yesterday evening and made her way down the River Weser en route to the North Sea.
Taking her place at number four in the list of the world’s largest superyachts, she is the second largest yacht to be built by the German yard (topped by the 180m Azzam still under construction) and certainly one of the most voluminous in existence.
Topaz has now entered the Channel and is expected to call in at Falmouth on the English south coast tomorrow morning. Where she is headed after that is still a matter of speculation.
