YPI Presents Client Yachts In Singapore, Antibes, Palma & Genova

Yacht Shows offer an effective way of presenting client yachts to potential new buyers, charter guests and fellow brokers within the industry. The best Shows are well promoted, well timed, well placed and because they succeed in enticing the very best yachts they become must-attend events for clients and industry alike.

This year YPI Charter attended the SINGAPORE YACHT SHOW for the first time, taking the opportunity to present the 34m Dutch classic SHAMOUN . “The Show went very well for us,” says YPI Group Head of Marketing, Mark Duncan. “The yacht attracted some good quality visits from local VIPs and entrepreneurs who showed a very keen interest in chartering. There is a very real interest locally to charter luxury yachts in the region. The yacht also benefitted from some good media coverage in the local press, on CNBC and on satellite TV network AL JAZEERA which carried a short interview with our Director of Sales, Russell Crump (pictured opposite).
SHAMOUN also hosted a private VIP soiree with the regional Lamborghini Owners Club which was a great success. All in all, the Show gave our team a good chance to meet up with existing contacts in the area as well as giving them the chance to make some new ones – and that’s what makes the difference when it comes to selling or chartering yachts for clients.”

The ANTIBES YACHT SHOW is essentially the first opportunity of the year for brokers to present their yachts for charter and for sale. This year YPI Brokerage presented the striking Maiora 27, IFA CANNES.

“We had some interesting visits during the Show and it was good to be able to show her off to some new prospects,” says her YPI broker, Gregory Gheraia.

Now in its 25th year, this is one show that is reserved exclusively for the industry, and in particular MYBA members. The MYBA Charter Show in Genova offers charter brokers and press a first and up-close look at some of the finest yachts available for charter in the upcoming Summer Season on the Mediterranean and Winter Season in the Caribbean.
“It is by far one of the year’s most important shows for the charter industry,” explains Senior YPI Charter broker, Annemarie Gathercole. “There were over 60 yachts presented this year all of which were opened up for brokers to go on board, meet the crew, try the chef’s cooking and generally get an accurate feel for the yacht’s strongest selling points, and indeed its weaknesses. It’s exactly that type of knowledge that makes the advice brokers give to potential charterers so invaluable. It can be the difference between a fantastic holiday for clients or a nightmare.”
This year YPI Charter presented recent fleet signing MARINA WONDER - the 2012 Majesty 125 built by leading Middle-Eastern shipyard, Gulf Craft.
“She attracted a lot of attention and lots of visits,” says her YPI Charter Manager Alena Zilayova. “But then she is a great looking yacht with lots of space, she is brand new and offers amazing accommodation for up to 10 guests. And she has a superb crew who really know what they are doing.”
MARINA WONDER is available for charter in the Eastern Mediterranean this Summer.

Now in its 2nd edition, the Mallorca Superyacht Days was held in the Port Adriano, organised at the same time as the International Palma Boat Show to offer more opportunities for clients to visit some of the world’s finest yachts.

“I was really quite impressed by the Show last year,” says Head of YPI Sailing, Will Bishop. “It had the right attitude about it and a very nice selection of yachts, especially sailing yachts. So this year, we decided to bring over two very different but equally superb yachts from our own sailing fleet –ANNAGINE andYII.

“It wasn’t the busiest show we have ever attended but we had two important client visits, one of which has resulted in some sea trials - another reminder, if ever it was needed, that even with today’s technology, there is no substitute for getting out there and showing your clients’ yachts.”
