Following on from the recent sales of BUILD 395 ROYAL HUISMAN, MARI CHA IV and MED SPIRIT, Yachting Partners International (YPI) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of two sailing yacht sales: CYCLOS III and YII.

CYCLOS III
“A benchmark of high performance sailing”
Following the retirement of her former owner after 35 years of rewarding sailing, YPI is pleased to announce the successful sale by Blind Bid Auction of the ground-breaking 42 metre Royal Huisman ketch, CYCLOS III.
“Sailing yachts may only make up around 12% of the world’s fleet of yachts for sale, but there is a passion with sailing yachts that’s hard to find elsewhere in yachting,” explains Head of YPI Sailing and one-time captain of CYCLOS III, William Bishop. “And it’s a passion that was perfectly exemplified by the very high level of interest this Auction generated.”
Built in 1990 by the world’s pre-eminent shipyard, Royal Huisman withnaval architecture by the great Ron Holland and innovative interiors by Andrew Winch, CYCLOS III was the ground-breaking yacht of her generation and she remains outstanding even today.
“We very much look forward to seeing this timeless yacht back on the water,” says Will. “I am convinced she will bring as much pleasure and enjoyment to her new owner as she has done for her previous owner.”

YPI is pleased to announce the sale of the stunning 37 metre Holland Jachtbouw sloop, YII.
Presented by YPI at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show, ‘YII’ was launched in 2006 and has been superbly maintained by her professional crew ever since. An award-winning pedigree yacht with naval architecture by the renowned Dixon Yacht Designs and interiors by John Munford, ‘YII’ is intelligently laid out and she benefits on the water from the extensive R&D program undertaken prior to her construction.
“She is a stunning, powerful performance sloop,” says Head of YPI Sailing, William Bishop, “Her optimized hull and keel design gives maximum lift, stability and efficiency and her exceptional sail area to displacement ratio gives outstanding performance even in the slightest of breezes. Sold by YPI in March this year, the 27.5 metre MED SPIRIT is a Super Maxi Racing Yacht and one of the fastest monohulls in the world capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 knots.

Built in 2003 by Australian yard, Boat Speed, from designs by Hugh Wellbourn, her new owner is now currently working with YPI on some exciting new plans for increased optimization.

Sold by YPI in February, the 42-metre carbon composite offshore racer MARI CHA IV is now presently undergoing a major conversion for her new owner, himself an experienced yachtsman, at Royal Huisman’s Huisfit division in Vollenhove, the Netherlands.

“We are basically adding a range of luxury cruising amenities to what is effectively a high performance racer,” explains Head of YPI Sailing, William Bishop. “We will be modifying the structure to provide for a new deckhouse, altered superstructure and cockpits. We have been working with the new owner in selecting which yard should be charged with taking care of the refit and the selection of interior designer. I am pleased to say Rhoades Young Design have done an unbelievable job of interpreting the owner’s vision.”

The yacht will also be making use of a light lifting keel to replace her existing canting keel.

“It is a significant project,” adds Will. “She will have a new lightweight interior, low maintenance faux teak decks and all on-board systems will be changed or upgraded. She will have high-speed hydraulics for the winches, new navigation and entertainment systems as well as new alarm and monitoring systems. It’s a very exciting project and we are all very much looking forward to seeing the end result next year when she hits the water as the newly-named SAMURAI.”

This 39 metre new build, BUILD 395, is currently under construction with Royal Huisman, project managed YPI’s Head of Sailing, William Bishop, and remains firmly on schedule for launch and delivery later this year.
