YPI Announces 75-metre New-Build Project with Kingship Marine

Yachting Partners International (YPI) and Chinese shipbuilder, Kingship Marine, are pleased to reveal their first project together, the 75-metre expedition yacht: ARCTIC WHALE.

Combining the very best of European design and Chinese shipbuilding competence.

Conceived with long range world cruising in mind, ARCTIC WHALE is the latest design to come from the boards of renowned French designer, Eva Cadio & Co, known for her work on Cedar Sea II, Jasmin, MuMu and Calaf amongst many others.

"The main concept for ARCTIC WHALE,” explains Eva, “has been to offer the ultimate yacht for world travel with a unique "Art de Vivre" – a form that fits function and lifestyle and an exterior design that brings it all together. The lines of ARCTIC WHALE are designed to show strength, harmony and elegance."

More than just a concept, the yacht has been fully designed with all systems specified whilst leaving wide enough scope for bespoke client modifications.

“It is a ground breaking project,” says the project’s YPI broker, Mike Rich. “To have one of the top shipbuilders in Asia working with one of Europe’s best designers is an important plus and one of the reasons we at YPI were keen to act as the exclusive worldwide representatives.”

Located in the centre of the Pearl River Delta district, directly across from Zhong Shan Port just 90 minutes away from Hong Kong, near to the new YPI Asia offices, the Kingship shipyard was the first in Asia to specialize in building steel and aluminum luxury yachts in compliance with Lloyds and MCA. A 60-acre site, it is able to construct up to seven projects simultaneously depending on size.

Roger Liang, founding owner and MD of Kingship says: “This is one of the biggest projects Kingship has taken on. We are very confident that working with the talent of Eva and the experience of YPI, and with top quality European project management, ARCTIC WHALE will set the standard and raise the bar for some of our other projects still to come.”

Designed to sleep 12 in 6 large, spacious cabins, all ensuite and all featuring the latest in audio visual entertainment systems, ARCTIC WHALE uses all her space to maximum effect.

ARCTIC WHALE will be built with an ice-class hull and will be fully MCA LY2 compliant. She has a heli-pad (either ‘touch and go’ or fully functional), swimming pool, two Jacuzzis and an interior that can be fitted out to suit the owner’s own personal taste. The mechanical systems and engine package can also be specified by the owner.

“With ARCTIC WHALE you get all the great flair and intelligence of French design,” says Mike, “the competence and quality of a tried and tested shipyard, European prepared build specifications and all at the exceptionally competitive pricing that only China can now offer. Whether you want to amble around St Tropez, show off in St Barths or go crashing through the ice in Antarctica, ARCTIC WHALE is the first of a new era of yacht building and we at YPI are very proud to be there from the start.”

ARCTIC WHALE is now for sale exclusively through YPI.
