A new look and new water toys for AXIOMA
AXIOMA is currently in the Mediterranean after a successful prolonged winter season, with more than eight weeks of charters focused in the northern Caribbean. She visited stunning ports, including St Barths, St Kitts, Antigua and the British Virgin Islands, from December till January as well as the Bahamas from February till April – a new destination for AXIOMA, where she will return next year.
The Captain and crew have worked hard to ensure the yacht remains in excellent condition, with the seasonal introduction of new interior items and entertainment throughout the yacht.
AXIOMA started her 2020 season with several new features, the most striking being her brand new hull colour. The transformation from neutral grey to sparkling Erica Blue is simply stunning. The bold colour was chosen by brokers last year when they were invited to vote in a secret ballot during a fam tour in St Barths. Her repeat guests were both taken aback and pleasantly surprised by her new look.
“The unique colour totally rejuvenates the look of the yacht,” said one enthusiastic guest. “The turquoise shade of blue is cool, modern and subtly changes depending on the time of day. It makes AXIOMA stand out and when we flew over her on arrival she was unmistakable.”
AXIOMA also boasts several new tenders and water toys. The new Fjord 44 Coupé limo and Castoldi tenders proved its worth in the Caribbean last winter by offering the perfect balance between performance, reliability, and comfort. The water jet drive brings operational advantages in shallow water and it has a drop-down bow, so you can beach the boat and guests can simply step ashore.
Additional new water toys include the Aquaglide Jungle Joe 2, a safe yet challenging inflatable structure that offers unlimited sliding, climbing, and obstacle-type challenges for all ages and a brand new 6.5m inflatable slide by FunAir. Finally, AXIOMA also took delivery of a Hobie Mirage, a sit-on pedal kayak designed for carefree fun and easy access to the water. Just hop on and go!
The philosophy of AXIOMA is that “Everything is possible” and this is reflected in her vast entertainment and leisure facilities.
Just as AXIOMA was finishing her repaint last autumn, a new rotational captain joined the yacht in time for the Caribbean season, Captain Charlie Rowlands (or just “Charlie” as he is known onboard - from the well-known movie “Charlie’s Angels”)
“He is approachable yet professional and always takes great care in not only looking after the guests, but also the crew, which is equally as important as strength often comes from the top. Charlie and Tom, AXIOMA’s leading Captain, complement each other really well and I honestly believe they are two of the best captain’s I’ve ever worked with.” says head stewardess Heather Campbell.
AXIOMA is a dream come true for most kids and is well equipped to keep them entertained. They even have deckhand Harry Adams, who doubles as their very own super nanny.
“We organise themed parties and special events for kids. These themes include pirates and treasure hunts, superheroes, outer space and the movies Frozen and Harry Potter – all tailored around the children and made as interactive as possible. I can guarantee they go away with memories that will last a lifetime.” says Harry.
AXIOMA is planning a busy charter season in the Mediterranean to make up for a spring overshadowed by coronavirus.
“The Adriatic has been less affected by the health crisis than other destinations in the Med, so we’re looking to visit secure but beautiful places like Dubrovnik and Montenegro.” says Captain Charlie.
The Adriatic itinerary will also include the stunning Liska Fjord in Croatia, the Brijuni Islands, the capital of Istria Pula, the pretty city of Dalmatia, the car-free island of Kaprije, the marbled city of Split, the famous Golden Horn beach on the island Brac, the pristine Lastovo Archipelago and the evergreen island of Mljet. Venice can easily be added to the list if deemed without risk.
