Caribbean Coast, Colombia
8 day itinerary
Colombia's stunning Caribbean coastline is this country's jewel. With the colonial cities of Cartagena and Santa Marta at its heart, it is surrounded by some of the loveliest islands you'll ever see - best accessed by private yacht.
Welcome to Colombia
Arrive in Santa Marta where the yacht will be waiting for you in the marina or at anchor. Settle in onboard and enjoy welcome cocktails. Dine onboard cooled by the sea breeze overlooking the coast.
Cruise to the Parque Nacional Natural Tayrona, a protected area of Caribbean Colombia, stretching 35km along the coast from the Bahía de Taganga to the Río Piedras, covering 12,000 hectares of land and 3000 hectares of sea rich in corals. Spend the day diving, snorkelling and trekking, surrounded by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the highest coastal mountain range in the world.
Above a cloud forest
Take a helicopter to Ciudad Perdida (the Lost City), the archaeological site of an ancient city in Colombia's Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Land in the stunning private resort of Casa Galavanta, taking in spectacular views of the lost city along the way. Explore the Ciudad Perdida terraces and visit a coffee plantation, before a trek in the Sierra Nevada cloud forest, a true escape into nature.
Don Diego River
Today, get a glimpse of local life in a visit to an indigenous Kogui village. The Kogui people are an indigenous ethnic group living in Northern Colombia whose civilisation has continued since the Pre-Columbian era in the Sierra Nevada. The modern-day Kogui live much the same as their Tayrona ancestors. Later, enjoy a peaceful session of paddleboarding on Don Diego River.
Wake in Cartagena, where the yacht will have cruised to overnight. Explore the Old City and Getsemani alongside historian. Other options: Cooking classes, visit market, art scene of Cartagena, shopping, rum tasting and more.
Rosario Islands archipelago
One of Colombia’s most important national parks, and the only park in the country that is mainly underwater, these islands are highly protected and preserved. A collection of postcard-worthy Caribbean beaches, beach huts and mangrove tunnels, they are ideal for diving, snorkelling, paddleboarding or sportfishing. A great spot for enjoying fresh lobster or shellfish.
San Bernardo Islands
The San Bernardo Islands are 10 small paradise escapes surrounded by crystalline blue water. Truly off the beaten track, this is a place where nature and humans coexist in harmony. Part of the Rosario and San Bernardo corals national natural park, it’s a land of white sands, palm trees, and cabañas. Your captain will take you to the best hidden spots.
Return to Cartagena for disembarkation. This itinerary is ideal for adventurous charter guests with opportunities to move inland at any point. We can arrange additional experiences from surfing and more helicopter expeditions to additional trekking routes.
